Luis Alberto Camargo is the Founder and Director of the Organization for Environmental Education and Protection (OpEPA). OpEPA is a non-profit organization that holds registrations in both Colombia and the USA and is dedicated to promoting nature-based and regenerative education, heritage interpretation, and weaving. OpEPA has worked with over 130,000 children, youth, and educators fostering a more sustainable and peaceful world. Luis holds the Regional Latin America Vice-chair position in the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication and co-leads the Colombia Regenerativa initiative.
Additionally, he is a co-founder and board member of Catalyst 2030 and The Weaving Lab, organizations that seek to create thriving learning ecosystems by supporting Change Leaders in becoming more aligned, collaborative, and systemic. As a climate reality leader for The Climate Reality Project and a core team member of the Regenerative Communities Network, Luis is dedicated to addressing issues related to social entrepreneurship, regeneration, conservation, climate change, environmental education, environmental peace, wilderness medicine, and wilderness expeditions. Luis is a well-respected speaker who has shared his expertise on numerous topics related to his work. He focuses on reconnecting youth to nature and people to the Earth, to build more sustainable, regenerative, and peaceful communities.
